Two people were injured when terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij (FAK) carried out an attack using a quadcopter in Barwand, Upper South Waziristan.
The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana for medical treatment.
The attack highlights the continuing threat posed by FAK terrorists in the tribal districts, where the use of remotely operated aerial devices has added another dimension to security challenges. Such attacks also put civilians at risk, particularly in areas where residents have limited protection against aerial threats.
Further details about the nature of the injuries, the intended target and the circumstances surrounding the attack were not immediately available.
