Security forces and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) have neutralized Zahid Gul, a key commander of Fitna al-Khwarij, during a joint intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat, security sources said.

The operation was launched in an area of the district following intelligence reports about the commander’s presence. Zahid Gul was reportedly involved in planning and facilitating the suicide bombing at Kohat Police Lines, making him a key target for counterterrorism agencies.

According to the available information, Gul was also wanted in connection with other terrorist attacks and various criminal activities. His elimination is expected to provide investigators with an opportunity to further examine the network involved in attacks targeting security personnel and law enforcement installations.

The Kohat Police Lines bombing highlighted the threat posed by terrorist networks operating in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces and police continue to pursue individuals linked to attacks on law enforcement personnel and public infrastructure.

Security forces and CTD continue intelligence-led operations against Fitna al-Khwarij and its associated networks to disrupt terrorist planning, dismantle facilitation networks, and prevent further attacks.

Further details about the operation and any weapons or other material recovered have not yet been provided.
