Security Forces have achieved a significant operational success in North Waziristan, eliminating 13 Khawarij terrorists during a successful intelligence-based operation, according to security sources.
The operation was conducted as part of the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision, aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, disrupting their operational infrastructure and preventing hostile elements from threatening the peace and security of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to security sources, Security Forces carried out a targeted intelligence-based operation against suspected hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij in North Waziristan and its surrounding areas. The operation was launched following sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering regarding the movement and presence of terrorist elements in the area.
The intelligence-led action resulted in the elimination of 13 Khawarij terrorists, delivering a significant blow to the terrorist network operating in the region. The successful operation reflects the importance of continuous intelligence collection, surveillance and timely action in countering terrorist threats.
Security Forces had maintained close monitoring of the movement and activities of Fitna al-Khawarij elements in the area. Based on the intelligence developed through this surveillance, a decisive operation was undertaken against the identified terrorist presence. The operation represents another setback for terrorist elements attempting to establish footholds, maintain hideouts or facilitate attacks from the rugged terrain of North Waziristan.
North Waziristan has historically been exploited by militant organizations seeking to establish operational sanctuaries and launch attacks against security personnel and civilian targets. The latest operation demonstrates the continued resolve of Security Forces to prevent terrorist groups from regaining operational space and to dismantle networks before they can translate their presence into attacks.
Rather than allowing terrorist elements to consolidate their positions, Security Forces continue to employ intelligence-based operations designed to identify, track and neutralize threats at their source.
