Security forces eliminated five terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in South Waziristan, targeting hideouts of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), security sources said.

According to the sources, the operation was conducted after receiving intelligence about the presence of Fitna al-Khwarij terrorists in the area. Security forces effectively targeted their hideouts, killing five terrorists and destroying the positions used by them.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the possession of the killed terrorists, the sources said, adding that the recovered material was being examined to determine its intended use.

The operation is part of ongoing intelligence-based operations against terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in areas where terrorist groups attempt to establish hideouts and launch attacks against security forces and civilians.

Security sources said sustained operations have inflicted significant losses on Fitna al-Khwarij in the province, disrupting their ability to maintain safe havens and carry out terrorist activities.

Security forces continue intelligence-based operations across the province to track down terrorist networks and prevent attacks before they can be carried out.
