Security forces eliminated a wanted terrorist commander during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat, security sources said.
The operation was conducted on the basis of intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. During the operation, an exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the terrorists, resulting in the elimination of terrorist commander Power Khan.
According to security sources, Power Khan was wanted by security forces for his alleged involvement in multiple terrorist activities in the district and surrounding areas. His elimination is expected to disrupt the operational capabilities of the terrorist network in the area.
The sources said security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations in Lakki Marwat to identify and eliminate terrorist networks, their commanders and facilitators.
A search operation was also conducted in the area following the engagement to trace any remaining terrorists and secure the vicinity.
Security forces have repeatedly maintained that operations will continue until terrorist threats are eliminated and peace is restored in the region.
