For five days and nights, he remained steadfast at the front, leading his men with determination and refusing to abandon his position despite intense enemy pressure. His resolute command and fearless presence became instrumental in holding the defensive line and thwarting the enemy’s advance.
His conduct on the battlefield reflected the highest traditions of military service placing the safety and defence of the country above personal security and ultimately making the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
For his extraordinary gallantry and supreme devotion to duty, Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed was posthumously awarded Pakistan’s highest military honour, the Nishan-e-Haider.
