Security Forces have successfully conducted an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in Bannu District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following credible reports regarding the presence and movement of Khawarij in the area.
The operation was launched under Operation 11 Garaj as part of ongoing efforts to identify, disrupt, and eliminate Khawarij elements operating in the region and to prevent them from threatening the peace and security of local communities.
Acting on the basis of reported intelligence regarding the presence of Khawarij, Security Forces swiftly initiated the operation and effectively engaged the suspected Khawarij position.
During the operation, an exchange of fire took place when the Khawarij attempted to flee from the area upon realizing the presence of Security Forces. The forces responded promptly and decisively, effectively containing the attempted escape and engaging the Khawarij.
As a result of the successful operation, several Khawarij were neutralised, while their hideouts were also destroyed, significantly disrupting their ability to use the area as a base for hostile activities. The destruction of the hideouts represents a significant operational achievement, as such locations can provide Khawarij elements with shelter and space to organize and plan further activities. By dismantling these positions, Security Forces have further restricted the ability of Khawarij to establish or maintain operational footholds in the area.
The successful action also demonstrates the effectiveness of intelligence-based operations in identifying Khawarij presence and responding to emerging threats before they can endanger the local population.
