A key facilitator of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), identified as Abdullah Dehani, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Saravan, Iran, according to local sources.
Dehani was reportedly involved in arranging logistics for BLA operatives and facilitating their movement and entry into Balochistan. His elimination could potentially disrupt an important logistical channel used by the terrorist group for cross-border operations.
The incident comes amid reports of a series of targeted attacks against senior BLA figures operating in Iran. According to available information, three key BLA figures have been eliminated in Iran within the past 24 hours, raising questions about the security of the group’s leadership and support network in the region.
Among those killed are Mustafa Rudini and Faryad Rudini, alongside Abdullah Dehani.
The latest incidents are particularly significant because BLA networks operating in the Iran-Pakistan border region have long been accused of facilitating movement, recruitment, logistics and operational support for attacks in Balochistan.
The killings, reportedly carried out by unidentified assailants, have not been publicly attributed to any particular actor, and the circumstances surrounding the attacks remain unclear.
The concentration of attacks against three important BLA figures in such a short period, however, represents a potentially serious setback for the group’s cross-border facilitation network.
For Pakistan, the development is significant given the persistent security challenge posed by BLA-linked terrorists operating along the border and their alleged use of Iranian territory for logistical activities connected with attacks inside Balochistan.
