Security forces successfully repelled coordinated terrorist attacks on two security check posts in Quetta, eliminating three terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khwarij during swift retaliatory action, according to security sources.
The attacks targeted security check posts located in the Spin Karez and Zarghoon Ghar areas, where heavily armed terrorists attempted to breach the defensive positions under the cover of darkness. Alert personnel responded immediately, engaging the attackers in an intense exchange of fire.
Sources said the timely and effective response by security forces not only thwarted both attacks but also resulted in the elimination of three terrorists. The remaining attackers were forced to retreat, abandoning their attempt to overrun the check posts.
Following the engagements, additional troops were rushed to the area, and comprehensive search and clearance operations were launched to trace any fleeing terrorists and eliminate possible hideouts or facilitators in the vicinity. Security forces have also tightened security around sensitive installations and key routes as a precautionary measure.
Officials believe the coordinated nature of the attacks indicates an attempt by terrorist groups to test security preparedness and create instability in the provincial capital. However, the prompt response by the forces prevented the terrorists from achieving their objectives and ensured that both security installations remained fully secure.
The attempted assaults come amid intensified counterterrorism operations across Balochistan, where security forces have significantly increased intelligence-based actions against terrorist networks. In recent days alone, multiple operations in Khuzdar resulted in the elimination of seven terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan, while several others were arrested, dealing a major blow to the operational capabilities of the banned outfit.
The latest attacks also follow the brutal killing of six innocent laborers in Turbat by terrorists linked to Fitna al-Hindustan, an incident that further intensified security operations across the province. Officials have reiterated that terrorists will continue to be pursued wherever they attempt to regroup, and that operations against Fitna al-Hindustan, Fitna al-Khwarij, and their facilitators will continue until their operational networks are completely dismantled.
