Tribal elders and community representatives from Upper Orakzai have reiterated their commitment to supporting security forces and law enforcement agencies in the ongoing campaign against terrorism, declaring that militants and their facilitators would not be allowed to regain a foothold in the district.
The commitment came during a high-level jirga convened to review the prevailing security situation, discuss measures to eliminate terrorist networks, and strengthen coordination between local communities and security institutions for ensuring lasting peace in the region.
Participants from across Upper Orakzai expressed confidence in the ongoing counterterrorism operations and praised the sacrifices and efforts of security forces in preventing the return of Fitna al-Khwarij terrorists to the district. They emphasized that maintaining peace was a shared national responsibility and assured authorities of their continued cooperation against terrorists and their support networks.
Community elders stressed that all areas already cleared of terrorist elements should be secured through permanent security arrangements to prevent any attempts by militants to infiltrate again. They also called for the continuation of intelligence-based operations and clearance activities in remaining vulnerable pockets to eliminate any residual terrorist presence.
During the jirga, participants urged local residents to remain vigilant and immediately report suspicious individuals, movements, or activities to security agencies, stressing that timely intelligence provided by citizens had repeatedly helped foil terrorist plots and protect civilian lives.
The gathering also underscored that the fight against terrorism could only succeed through close coordination between local communities, police, and security forces, with participants rejecting any form of support, shelter, or facilitation for terrorists.
The jirga concluded with a unanimous pledge that the people of Upper Orakzai would continue standing shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s security forces in safeguarding peace and stability. Participants reaffirmed that the district would not allow Fitna al-Khwarij or any other terrorist network to exploit local communities or disrupt normal life again.
The renewed public commitment comes as security forces continue intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, disrupt militant mobility, and prevent cross-district infiltration attempts under the broader national counterterrorism campaign.
