The Government of Balochistan has imposed an indefinite curfew in the Khad Kocha Sub-Tehsil of Mastung District, effective from 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, as part of precautionary measures aimed at maintaining public safety, preserving law and order, and ensuring the protection of lives and property amid the prevailing security situation.
Announcing the decision, Spokesperson for the Balochistan Home Department, Mr. Babar Yousafzai, stated that the curfew has been enforced under the directives of the provincial government following a comprehensive assessment of the security environment in the area. He said the restrictions would remain in force until further orders, and would be reviewed continuously in light of developments on the ground.
The spokesperson explained that the measure has been adopted solely in the interest of safeguarding citizens and enabling law enforcement agencies to carry out their duties effectively in order to maintain peace and stability.
Under the curfew, residents of the affected area are directed to remain indoors, while all unnecessary movement has been prohibited. Citizens have been advised not to leave their homes except in cases of genuine emergency and to strictly comply with all instructions issued by the district administration and law enforcement authorities.
Mr. Babar emphasized that full public cooperation is essential for the successful implementation of the security measures. He urged residents to exercise patience, act responsibly, and avoid unnecessary travel or gatherings during the enforcement of the curfew.
He further warned that strict legal action would be taken against individuals found violating the curfew or attempting to disrupt public order. The provincial administration, he said, will ensure the effective enforcement of the restrictions in accordance with the law while taking all necessary measures to facilitate public safety.
The spokesperson reiterated that the Government of Balochistan remains fully committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and restoring normalcy at the earliest possible opportunity. He noted that law enforcement agencies are maintaining close coordination and are taking all necessary operational and administrative measures to preserve peace and stability in the affected area.
The Home Department has appealed to the public to rely only on official sources for information and to refrain from circulating or acting upon unverified reports or misinformation that could create unnecessary panic or confusion.
Residents have been advised to remain indoors, cooperate fully with the district administration, and follow all official advisories until the curfew is lifted through a formal notification.
The Government of Balochistan reaffirmed that every decision is being taken with the paramount objective of ensuring public safety, maintaining law and order, and creating a secure environment for all citizens.
