Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Iran’s Interior Minister at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where both sides discussed the regional security environment, bilateral security cooperation and measures aimed at strengthening border management.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, including the prevailing regional security situation and the importance of effective border management in addressing shared security challenges.
The discussions also underscored the need for close coordination and sustained cooperation to promote stability along the Pakistan-Iran border and enhance bilateral security collaboration.
The visiting Iranian minister appreciated Pakistan’s consistent efforts to reduce regional tensions and acknowledged its constructive diplomatic role in promoting peace and stability across the region.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close engagement and strengthening cooperative mechanisms to safeguard regional security and advance mutual prosperity.
The meeting reflected the continued resolve of Pakistan and Iran to enhance security coordination and maintain regular high-level engagement in support of peace, stability and effective border management.
