Karachi Attack Plan Busted, CTD Arrests BLA Operatives

A major terrorism plot was foiled in Karachi after the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), in an intelligence-based operation, arrested two alleged operatives associated with the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and recovered a significant quantity of explosive material and other items linked to terrorist activities.

According to CTD officials, the arrested individuals have been identified as Mujahid Baloch and Fareed Baloch alias Zakir Bin. The officials stated that both suspects had received training at BLA camps and possessed expertise in reconnaissance and communication techniques.

Initial investigations revealed that the arrested individuals were allegedly operating in Karachi on the instructions of BLA commanders Sajid Baloch and Basheer Zaib. The suspects were allegedly involved in collecting sensitive information regarding key installations and sharing it with their organization.

CTD officials further stated that the arrested operatives were actively working to establish a terror network targeting sensitive installations and law enforcement agencies in the city.

During the operation, law enforcement personnel recovered approximately 4 kilograms of explosive material, along with detonators, prima cords, ball bearings, and other items allegedly intended for use in terrorist activities.

A case has been registered against the arrested suspects at the CTD police station, while further investigation is underway. CTD and relevant security agencies have constituted additional teams to conduct detailed interrogation and pursue further leads emerging from the investigation.

Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and preventing attempts to disrupt peace and security in Karachi. Security agencies continue to conduct intelligence-driven operations to identify and neutralize elements involved in planning and facilitating acts of terrorism.
