Terrorists launched an attack on a security post established to curb smuggling in the Panwan area of Jiwani, but security personnel repulsed the assault after an intense exchange of fire, eliminating four terrorists, according to sources.
The attack targeted the security post responsible for preventing cross-border smuggling activities. Sources said the terrorists, accompanied by smugglers, opened fire on the post, prompting security personnel to respond with effective retaliatory fire.
During the exchange, four terrorists were eliminated, while two security personnel embraced martyrdom in the line of duty, sources said.
Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the surrounding area and launched a clearance operation to ensure that no terrorists remained in the vicinity. The operation was continuing at the time of reporting, with further details expected once it concludes.
