Pakistan has, once again, been compelled to exercise its inherent right to self-defense following a heinous and premeditated terrorist assault on a Frontier Constabulary (FC) forward post, which resulted in the tragic martyrdom of multiple Pakistani security personnel who were honorably serving on the nation’s frontier. The attack was orchestrated and launched from established terrorist sanctuaries located within Afghan territory sanctuaries that have, regrettably, been allowed to exist and operate with persistent impunity.
The Islamic Republic of Pakistan wishes to place on record, unequivocally and without reservation, that this operation was not an act of aggression. It was a carefully measured, legally grounded, and operationally precise response to an existential threat posed by internationally designated terrorist organizations that continue to exploit Afghan soil as a staging ground for cross-border attacks against Pakistan’s citizens and uniformed defenders.
In the immediate aftermath of the FC post attack, Pakistan’s security and intelligence apparatus conducted a thorough, methodical, and intelligence-driven assessment of credible threats emanating from within Khost and Paktika provinces. Acting on verified, actionable intelligence, the Pakistan Armed Forces executed precision air operations exclusively targeting terrorist infrastructure including militant command nodes, weapons storage facilities, and operational planning centers directly linked to the perpetrators of the attack on Pakistani security forces.
Pakistan wishes to emphasize with the utmost clarity that every dimension of the planning, authorization, and execution of these operations adhered strictly to the principles of proportionality, necessity, and distinction as enshrined in international humanitarian law. At no stage were civilian populations, residential areas, or civilian infrastructure designated as targets. The operations were surgical, deliberate, and conducted in full accordance with the professional and ethical standards of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
The Government of Pakistan is deeply concerned by the swift circulation of false, inflammatory, and irresponsible narratives in certain quarters, alleging that Pakistani operations deliberately targeted civilian homes and resulted in civilian casualties including women, children, and the elderly in the provinces of Kunar, Khost, and Paktika.
Pakistan categorically, firmly, and unequivocally rejects these fabricated allegations.
Such disinformation campaigns appear deliberately engineered to misrepresent the facts on the ground, to undermine Pakistan’s legitimate right to self-defense, and to inflame regional tensions at a moment that demands sobriety, responsibility, and honest engagement. Pakistan calls upon all responsible members of the international community, regional stakeholders, and credible media organizations to exercise due diligence, apply rigorous journalistic standards, and refrain from amplifying unverified claims that serve the interests of terrorist networks and their sympathizers.
Pakistan further urges independent and impartial international observers to examine the verified facts of this matter in their proper context and to draw conclusions grounded in evidence rather than propaganda.
