Public concerns are mounting in Lakki Marwat following allegations regarding the presence of individuals linked to Khawarij and Taliban facilitators within the local peace committee.
According to local residents, questions are being raised about the activities of certain individuals allegedly operating under the banner of maintaining peace while engaging in actions that could undermine the area’s security environment. Citizens have expressed fears that the misuse of peace committees could damage public trust and create further instability in the district.
Residents and social circles have demanded a transparent investigation into any activities aimed at weakening the state’s defensive and security structure. They called for immediate scrutiny of armed group formation, open display of weapons, and any actions perceived to be outside the framework of the law.
The growing concerns have also sparked calls for authorities to identify and take strict legal action against anyone found facilitating militant or extremist elements under the guise of local peace initiatives.
Locals stressed that peace committees should serve the interests of stability and public protection, adding that any alleged support or shelter for terrorist elements under such platforms would be unacceptable and must not be tolerated.
