Is India Behind the Quetta Blast Through Its Proxy Networks? Here’s What Early Assessments Indicate

A brutal terrorist attack near Chaman Phattak in Quetta has resulted in the martyrdom of 14 individuals, including civilians and security personnel, while several others sustained injuries. The incident occurred when a civilian passenger movement, reportedly carrying families travelling for Eid holidays, was deliberately targeted in a heinous act of violence.

The attack has been strongly condemned as a barbaric crime against humanity, with women, children, and innocent passengers among the victims. Officials stated that the deliberate targeting of non-combatant civilians reflects the cowardly and inhumane nature of the perpetrators.

Preliminary security assessments suggest the involvement of elements associated with Fitna-al-Hindustan, a designation used by state authorities for externally influenced proxy networks engaged in destabilising activities in Pakistan. Authorities noted that such groups consistently exploit civilian populations to create fear, chaos, and instability.

Security officials said the timing of the attack is highly significant, occurring at a moment when the country is witnessing relative diplomatic engagement and regional developments. According to initial assessments, such incidents appear aimed at disrupting stability, undermining public confidence, and derailing peace efforts through acts of terrorism.

Officials further stated that the attack reflects a continued pattern of violence attributed to proxy networks, including groups such as the Majeed Brigade, which are under investigation for their alleged role in coordinated terrorist activities targeting both civilians and security forces.

Authorities emphasized that the targeting of families travelling during Eid demonstrates the complete absence of humanity, ideology, or moral justification behind such acts. The attackers, they said, are driven solely by an agenda of chaos, fear, and destabilisation.

Following the incident, security forces and law enforcement agencies immediately reached the site, cordoned off the area, and launched rescue and clearance operations. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment, while forensic teams collected evidence for detailed investigation.

A comprehensive investigation has been launched to trace facilitators, handlers, and operational networks linked to the attack. Security agencies have intensified intelligence-based operations across the region to prevent further incidents and dismantle terrorist infrastructure.

Authorities reiterated that such attacks cannot weaken national resolve. Instead, they stated that these acts further strengthen the determination of the state and the people of Pakistan to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.

Officials added that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain, and those responsible directly or indirectly will be identified, pursued, and brought to justice.

Security institutions have vowed continued operations against all networks involved until lasting peace and stability is fully restored in the region.
