Rumors circulating on social media and WhatsApp groups regarding alleged terrorist attacks on battalion and wing headquarters in Bajaur, including claims that attackers entered security installations, have been declared false and baseless by security sources.
According to ground reports, terrorists attempted limited attacks in the Mena and Inayat Kalay areas earlier in the day, but the assaults were effectively repelled through a timely response by security forces.
Sources said several terrorists were eliminated during the retaliatory action, while the attackers failed to achieve any operational objective.
The clarification comes amid heightened misinformation activity surrounding recent security incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in border districts witnessing intensified counterterrorism operations.
Security officials said the situation in the affected areas remains fully under control. Forces have cordoned off the surrounding localities and launched search operations to trace any fleeing terrorists or facilitators linked to the failed attacks.
The latest attempted assaults follow a broader pattern of terrorist activity in KP’s border regions, where security forces have recently intensified intelligence-based operations against terrorist networks involved in attacks on civilians and security personnel.
