Terrorists of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), declared by the state as Fitna al-Khwarij, once again failed in an apparent attempt to project control over an area in Bannu after fleeing the scene shortly after security forces moved in.
According to local sources, the incident took place in the Domel area of Bannu, where terrorists briefly appeared and attempted to create an impression of territorial presence by recording short propaganda-style videos before escaping.
Officials said that as soon as information regarding the arrival of security forces and police reached the terrorists, they abandoned motorcycles and other equipment and fled the area following a brief exchange of fire.
Sources familiar with the situation stated that such incidents have repeatedly occurred in the particular Domel locality, where terrorists appear for a few minutes, record footage to project influence and then escape before security personnel reach the scene.
Police later arrived at the site and took control of the area.
Authorities stated that security measures in the locality have been further tightened to maintain law and order and prevent any attempt by terrorists to disrupt peace in the region.
