Security forces conducted an operation in the Zangi Adam Khel area of Khyber district late last night following reports of Khawarij presence, according to initial security sources.
Preliminary reports indicate that four to five Khawarij were killed during the operation, while seven to eight others sustained injuries. The operation was launched on the basis of credible intelligence regarding the presence of armed elements in the area.
Security sources further stated that those killed include individuals identified as key commanders. Among them are Commander Hanzala, Nahidullah alias Hayat, Ajmal, Bahadur alias Muhajir, Abu Darda, and Malang alias Sangari, according to initial information.
In addition, those reported injured include Yaser alias Muhajir, Obaidah alias Janan, and one individual identified as an Afghan national.
Authorities said the operation was carried out in a precise and targeted manner. Follow-up clearance and search operations are continuing in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining threats. The situation in the area is reported to be under control, while security forces maintain their presence to prevent any resurgence of Khawarij activity.
