Joint Security Operation in Barkhan Leaves Two Armed Assailants Dead; Kidnapped Civilian Killed

A joint operation conducted by law enforcement and security agencies in the outskirts of Barkhan resulted in the killing of two armed assailants and the injury of another, following the abduction of a local civilian, officials confirmed.

According to initial reports, unidentified armed individuals abducted a resident, identified as Wali Bakhsh, from a nearby locality. Upon receiving information about the incident, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Loralai Range, Junaid Ahmed Sheikh, promptly arrived at the scene and ordered immediate action against the perpetrators.

Under the leadership of DIG Junaid Ahmed Sheikh, a coordinated operation was launched involving the Frontier Corps (FC), local police, and members of a tribal peace force. The large-scale operation was aimed at locating the abductors and securing the safe recovery of the kidnapped individual. Notably, local tribal figure Aftab Bugti was also present alongside security personnel during the operation.

During the course of the operation, security forces engaged in an intense exchange of fire with the armed assailants. As a result, two of the attackers were killed and one sustained injuries. However, in a tragic development, officials confirmed that the abducted civilian, Wali Bakhsh, was shot and killed by the assailants during the confrontation.

DIG Junaid Ahmed Sheikh stated that security forces have effectively surrounded the remaining assailants, with intermittent firing continuing from both sides. He expressed confidence that the ongoing operation would soon lead to the neutralization of the remaining suspects.

Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order in the region and ensuring that those responsible for acts of violence are brought to justice. The operation remains ongoing, with additional reinforcements deployed to secure the area and prevent any further escalation.
