Security forces carried out multiple operations and responded to a series of violent incidents across different regions, highlighting sustained security pressure along Pakistan’s western frontier and adjoining conflict zones.
In the Aka Khel area of Khyber District, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation following credible reports of the presence of armed elements. According to local sources, an exchange of fire took place during the operation, resulting in the killing of three terrorists, also known as Khwarij, and the arrest of one individual. Search and clearance operations were continuing as forces cordoned off the area to eliminate any remaining threats.
Separately, security sources reported that an infiltration attempt from Khost Province into Pakistan was foiled in a counteroperation along the border. An armed individual was killed during the engagement. Officials identified the deceased as Abdullah Jan, also known as Abu Dujana, a resident of Gardez district in Paktia Province. Authorities said the individual was of Afghan nationality, and his body was later returned to his family by Afghan Taliban authorities before burial in Afghanistan. Officials described the incident as part of continuing counter-infiltration efforts along the frontier.
In a separate development in Logar Province, an armed attack reportedly targeted a Taliban checkpoint in the Bandar Kabul area of Pul-e-Alam. According to initial and unverified accounts, two Taliban members were killed and two others injured in the assault, which has been linked in local reports to a group identifying itself as the “Afghanistan Freedom Front.” Authorities have not issued a formal confirmation regarding the attackers or the motive.
Meanwhile, in Lakki Marwat District, unidentified armed assailants targeted members of a local peace committee in the Bego Khel area, killing two individuals identified as Safiullah and Afnan Khan. Police confirmed that both victims died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds. An investigation has been launched, and security forces have secured the area for further inquiry and possible follow-up operations.
Across all incidents, authorities emphasized that investigations are ongoing and operational details remain subject to verification. Security officials said the developments reflect the continuing complexity of threats spanning internal militancy, cross-border infiltration attempts, and localized armed violence.
