A terrorist attack targeting the Fateh Khel police check post in Bannu was successfully thwarted due to the prompt and coordinated response of local police units, officials confirmed on Thursday.
According to the District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu, a group of terrorists attempted to attack the Fateh Khel police outpost. However, the Quick Response Force (QRF) responded immediately, engaging the attackers and delivering a timely and effective counter-operation.
As a result of the police action, the attackers were forced to retreat from the scene. Officials reported that one terrorist sustained injuries during the exchange of fire and was carried away by accomplices as they fled.
The DPO further stated that additional police teams reached the site within ten minutes of the initial attack, reinforcing the position and launching a coordinated response to secure the area. The rapid deployment and professional handling of the situation prevented any loss of life or significant damage.
A search and clearance operation has been initiated in the surrounding areas to track and apprehend the fleeing attackers. Security across the district has been heightened to prevent any further incidents.
