Pakistan Exposes Dangerous Indian Disinformation Campaign Targeting Regional Peace

Pakistan has revealed a sophisticated and coordinated disinformation campaign orchestrated by India, in collaboration with Afghan operatives, aimed at undermining Pakistan’s international standing and sabotaging peace efforts in the region. According to experts, the campaign deployed false Iranian identities to create and amplify anti-Pakistan narratives, threatening both regional stability and Pakistan’s global image.

Investigations have uncovered that the disinformation operation used a structured “Initiator → Proliferator → Amplifier” model. The initial narratives were created and controlled through Indian-operated accounts, while Afghan-based accounts proliferated the messages under the guise of Iranian identities. Ghost platforms such as INN Iran News and Iran TV were employed to launch this coordinated propaganda effort, falsely portraying Pakistan as hostile toward Iran and aligning it with Western agendas.

The campaign falsely accused Pakistan of obstructing oil deliveries to the United States, aiming to provoke public resentment and fuel sectarian narratives. Dozens of accounts operating under fake Iranian identities were traced back to India and Afghanistan. India’s accounts orchestrated the strategic direction and content creation, while Afghan accounts amplified and spread the narratives across digital platforms. Analysts have identified Times of Iran News as a central hub of propaganda, consistently broadcasting false information globally.

Experts warn that the operation’s ultimate goal was to discredit Pakistan’s active role in regional peace initiatives, particularly in the Middle East. By portraying Pakistan as an adversary to Iran and as part of a Western agenda, the disinformation campaign sought to sow distrust and division within the Islamic world. The broader objective of the campaign, experts say, was to destabilize the region and undermine Pakistan’s efforts to mediate peace.

“India’s coordinated use of Afghan networks to propagate false narratives represents a direct attack on regional diplomacy and stability,” said a senior security analyst. “This campaign is not just targeted at Pakistan  it threatens the broader Middle East, Iran, the United States, and overall regional peace.”

The disclosure of this multi-stage propaganda operation underscores Pakistan’s vigilance in countering foreign information warfare. Analysts emphasize that the government, security agencies, and the public must remain alert to attempts designed to generate mistrust and misperceptions, particularly those seeking to weaken Pakistan’s international credibility.

Pakistan’s timely exposure of the campaign has once again highlighted its critical role in promoting peace and stability across the region, while demonstrating the country’s capacity to counter sophisticated foreign influence operations.
