The Spokesperson of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tahir Hussain Andrabi, has strongly rejected the recent statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs of India concerning Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism operations in Afghanistan.
In a press briefing, the spokesperson described India’s remarks as “baseless, misleading, and inappropriate,” asserting that they reflect a clear display of hypocrisy and double standards. He emphasized that Pakistan’s operations target terrorist elements operating from Afghan territory that have consistently carried out attacks against Pakistani civilians and security forces under external patronage.
“The statements by India are a reflection of blatant duplicity,” said Tahir Hussain Andrabi. “A country that has been engaged in systematic oppression and violence against Muslim populations, and that recently declared unconditional support for an occupying power, is now attempting to lecture others on principles and conduct.”
The spokesperson highlighted that India’s comments are an attempt to divert international attention from its ongoing human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir. He added that India has repeatedly undermined the regional integrity of its neighboring countries while portraying itself as a moral authority, a stance that Pakistan categorically rejects.
Pakistan reaffirms its commitment to securing its borders, combating terrorism, and ensuring regional peace and stability. The Foreign Office stated that such unfounded statements will not deter Pakistan from taking decisive action against terrorist elements, wherever they operate, and that accountability for cross-border terrorism remains a top priority.
