Pakistan’s armed forces carried out intense cross-border strikes in southern Kandahar, Afghanistan, as part of the ongoing military campaign known as Operation Ghazab Lil Haqq, security sources said.

According to officials familiar with the operation, the strikes involved heavy aerial bombardment supported by artillery fire targeting positions associated with militant elements across the border.

Security sources said one of the primary targets was a special forces headquarters, where the facility sustained significant damage during the overnight assault.

During the attack, the unit’s commander, identified as Nazar Mohammad Habib, was reportedly among those injured. Sources said he and several other personnel were wounded when the airstrike struck the compound.

At least 15 personnel were reported injured in the strike, according to information shared by security officials.

Sources further said that the injured commander is currently receiving treatment at Momand Hospital, where he was transferred following the attack.

The cross-border action is said to be part of Pakistan’s broader effort under Operation Ghazab Lil Haqq to neutralize militant infrastructure and prevent cross-border infiltration, particularly in regions where insurgent groups have previously attempted to stage attacks against Pakistani territory.

Security officials indicated that operations would continue until strategic objectives are fully achieved and militant networks operating along the frontier are effectively dismantled.
