In a significant counter-terrorism operation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Hyderabad successfully apprehended a suspected operative of the Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) during a meticulously planned intelligence-based raid in Qasimabad.
According to officials, the arrested individual is believed to have received specialized terrorist training in India, raising serious concerns about cross-border militant activities targeting Pakistan.
During the operation, CTD teams recovered a hand grenade, various firearms, and a substantial cache of technical equipment reportedly intended for use in terrorist operations. Authorities emphasized that the swift and professional execution of the raid prevented the suspect from carrying out any imminent threat.
“This arrest is a testament to the unwavering vigilance and operational efficiency of CTD Hyderabad,” said a senior official. “Our teams continue to act on credible intelligence to neutralize terrorist elements before they can harm civilians or destabilize peace in the region.”
Security sources confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and is being interrogated to uncover potential links with local and cross-border terrorist networks. The recovered weapons and equipment will undergo forensic examination to aid ongoing investigations.
The Counter-Terrorism Department reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public safety and maintaining law and order in Hyderabad and the broader Sindh province. Authorities stressed that all citizens play a vital role in providing timely intelligence to prevent terrorist incidents.
