Russia has expressed concern over the ongoing border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan and has urged both countries to resolve their differences through dialogue based on mutual respect.
In a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Moscow said reports of armed clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border were a matter of concern. The statement referred to recent reports indicating that aircraft and heavy weaponry had been used during fighting in border regions.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also noted that Afghan refugees returning from Pakistan and Iran were being affected by the rising tensions along the frontier areas.
Calling for restraint, Moscow urged both Kabul and Islamabad to avoid military confrontation and instead pursue diplomatic engagement to address their concerns. The statement emphasized that disputes should be resolved through negotiations conducted in a spirit of mutual respect.
Separately, the Russian Foreign Ministry also commented on the ongoing tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. According to the statement, there were few signs that Washington or Tel Aviv were prepared to exercise restraint or halt the ongoing bloodshed.
Moscow further warned that aggressive military actions risk deepening divisions within the Islamic world and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities to prevent further escalation in the region.
