Following hostilities initiated by hostile elements on 26 February 2026, Pakistan Security Forces have executed a highly coordinated and decisive operation along the Pak–Afghan border, delivering a calculated response to aggression and neutralizing multiple terrorist threats across several sectors.
During sustained ground operations, Pakistani forces successfully destroyed additional forward posts of the hostile TTA, while in the Zinda Sector of North Waziristan, an attempted enemy force buildup was effectively neutralized through precision mortar, tank, and artillery fire. Sporadic small arms fire from hostile positions was met with overwhelming and coordinated countermeasures, ensuring full operational dominance while preventing any casualties among Pakistani forces.
Complementing these ground operations, the Pakistan Air Force conducted targeted airstrikes in depth areas, striking multiple enemy locations to degrade terrorist infrastructure and combat capabilities. These coordinated strikes have significantly curtailed the operational reach of hostile elements along the border.
Security sources confirm that these combined operations inflicted substantial losses on terrorist forces, with 458 killed, over 700 injured, and 202 enemy posts destroyed. Additionally, Pakistani forces captured 33 hostile positions, while 196 tanks, armored personnel carriers, and vehicles were neutralized.
In the Chitral sector, local elders facilitated a request for a flag meeting regarding the return of five hostile bodies left behind during the failed assault of 26–27 February, reflecting signals of potential local de-escalation. Reports also indicate that white flags have been raised at multiple hostile posts, signaling intentions to withdraw and avoid further confrontation.
Meanwhile, in the Zhob sector, the 32-square-kilometer Ghudwana Enclave remains firmly under Pakistani control, with adjacent hostile positions largely vacated. Engineering units are actively constructing a seven-kilometer trench to consolidate and secure the absorbed territory, reinforcing strategic control along the border.
