TTP, TTG Followed by JUA Call for Urban Terror Surge in Pakistan

Banned terrorist organizations have effectively reinforced Pakistan’s position regarding cross-border militant linkages, and the Afghan Taliban’s patronage of these terror groups, after issuing fresh directives calling for intensified terrorist attacks inside the country.

After instructions attributed to factions identified as “Fitna al-Khwarij (FAK),” including the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (another FAK faction) has also reportedly directed its militants to accelerate operations within Pakistan.

According to security sources, a directive circulated within militant networks cites Pakistani air and ground operations on Afghan territory as the reason for escalating attacks.

The group has reportedly ordered operatives to specifically target urban centers in Punjab and Sindh, signaling an expansion of the threat landscape beyond border regions.

Officials say the directive strengthens Pakistan’s long-standing assertion that militant networks operating against it maintain linkages across the border and receive facilitation from elements inside Afghanistan.

Authorities have repeatedly maintained that recent terrorist incidents inside Pakistan were linked to groups operating from Afghan soil, an allegation denied by Taliban authorities in the past.

Security officials describe the latest militant communication as further evidence of operational coordination between banned outfits and cross-border support structures.

The development comes amid intensified counterterrorism operations and cross-border exchanges, with Pakistani forces targeting what officials describe as militant infrastructure and facilitation networks.

Law enforcement and intelligence agencies have heightened security measures in major urban centers, particularly in Punjab and Sindh, in response to the emerging threat signals.

Officials reiterated that counterterrorism operations will continue and that militant groups and their facilitators will not be allowed operational space.
