White flags were raised at several positions after Pakistan’s armed forces destroyed multiple Afghan Taliban check posts in response to cross-border firing along the Pak-Afghan frontier.
Security sources said Pakistani forces launched a counteroperation following what officials described as unprovoked firing and intrusion attempts by Afghan Taliban positions along the border.
According to security sources, Pakistan’s military used artillery and quadcopter surveillance systems to accurately target hostile posts.
Multiple Afghan Taliban check Posts were destroyed during the operation in border sectors, including areas in Bajaur’s Nawagai sector, Khyber’s Tirah region and the Chitral border sector.
Sources said Pakistani forces also targeted militant hideouts and destroyed several armored assets, with informal field reports suggesting significant militant casualties. These figures could not be independently verified.
Security officials said Afghan Taliban forces-initiated firing at several locations along the border, prompting a strong and precise Pakistani response.
Officials reiterated that the operation was conducted to counter cross-border aggression and safeguard Pakistan’s territorial integrity.
