A suicide bombing targeted the Dajal Joint Check Post at the KP–Punjab boundary in Dera Ismail Khan, resulting in the martyrdom of two police personnel and injuries to four others.
According to initial reports, the attacker, identified as Hayat Ullah, son of Abdul Sammi and described as an Afghan national, travelled from Dera Ismail Khan toward the joint checkpoint and attempted to enter Punjab. Upon being intercepted by security personnel, he detonated explosives strapped to his body.
Two police officials embraced martyrdom in the blast. One policeman and three civilians sustained injuries and were shifted to hospital for medical treatment.
In the immediate aftermath, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police launched a coordinated search and clearance operation in the surrounding areas.
Security sources confirmed that during follow-up action, two terrorist accomplices of the suicide bomber were eliminated, while several suspected facilitators were taken into custody.
The operation remains ongoing, and authorities said further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
