CTD Arrests TTP Operative in Intelligence-Based Operation in Sahiwal

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Police conducted a successful intelligence-based operation near Yusuf Wala Railway Station, leading to the arrest of an operative associated with the proscribed terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) – Fitna Al Khawarij.

According to CTD officials, the operation was carried out on the basis of credible intelligence indicating the presence of an individual actively involved in spreading extremist ideology and facilitating terrorist propaganda. During the action, law enforcement personnel apprehended the suspect and recovered a significant quantity of hate-inciting material, including books, printed literature, and digital content. In addition, cash and memory cards were also seized from the suspect’s possession.

Initial investigations revealed that the arrested individual was engaged in the promotion and distribution of banned extremist literature, with the intent to mislead civilians and radicalize vulnerable segments of society. Such activities pose a serious threat to public safety, social cohesion, and national security.

The suspect has been identified as Bilal, a resident of Tehsil Saranan, District Pishin, Balochistan. CTD officials stated that the individual was operating as part of a wider network linked to the banned organization, and further investigations are underway to trace his associates, handlers, and possible sources of funding.

A formal case has been registered against the arrested suspect under the Anti-Terrorism Act, and he has been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation. Authorities aim to uncover the full scope of his involvement and dismantle any connected facilitation or propaganda networks.

The Counter Terrorism Department reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism and extremist ideology in all its forms. CTD officials emphasized that operations against terrorists, their facilitators, and propaganda agents will continue with full force to ensure the safety and security of the public.

Law enforcement agencies have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, reiterating that public cooperation remains vital in the collective fight against terrorism and extremism.
