PM Calls on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government to Enhance Counterterrorism Institutions

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s firm commitment to supporting development initiatives, infrastructure improvement, education, healthcare, and employment generation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, within the constitutional framework of federal authority.

The Prime Minister emphasized that close coordination between the federal and provincial governments is indispensable for maintaining law and order in the province. He stated that sustained peace and stability require enhanced efforts by the provincial government, particularly through the strengthening of provincial institutions responsible for counter-terrorism and internal security.

Highlighting the importance of collective responsibility, the Prime Minister said that both the federal and provincial governments would continue their joint efforts to completely eliminate terrorism. He stressed that the establishment of lasting peace and the promotion of public welfare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa depend on the provincial government fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities effectively.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif noted that the provincial government enjoys full administrative authority and must take proactive steps to improve healthcare and education services for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He reiterated that the Federal Government has always remained committed to the welfare of the province’s population and will continue to extend full cooperation within its jurisdiction.

“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is an important and integral unit of the Federation,” the Prime Minister said, adding that the prosperity and well-being of its people are a national priority. He assured that the Federal Government would persist in its efforts to support the province’s development and uplift initiatives in accordance with constitutional limits.

The Prime Minister further underscored that national progress and effective public service delivery require close coordination, continuous engagement, and effective communication between the Federation and the provinces. He stated that the Federal Government believes in moving forward collectively with all provinces, guided by a vision of balanced and equitable development across the country.

He concluded by emphasizing that national unity, stability, and sustainable prosperity can only be achieved through mutual consultation, cooperation, and shared responsibility, reaffirming the Federal Government’s resolve to work hand in hand with provincial administrations to achieve these goals.
