Security forces have launched a major intelligence-based operation in the Mattani and Hassan Khel areas, resulting in armed clashes with militants and the injury of three terrorists, according to security sources.
The operation, jointly conducted by the Frontier Corps (FC) and local police, was initiated early Tuesday morning at approximately 8:00 a.m. following credible intelligence regarding the presence and movement of militants in the area. The operation remains ongoing as security forces continue search-and-strike activities to neutralize threats and secure the region.
During the operation, security personnel encountered resistance from militants, leading to an exchange of gunfire. As a result, three terrorists sustained injuries. Security sources confirmed that advanced drone surveillance was used to identify and track the wounded militants, significantly enhancing operational effectiveness and situational awareness.
In the course of the clashes, a Frontier Corps soldier was seriously injured after being hit by gunfire. The injured personnel was immediately evacuated and transferred to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Security officials stated that the operation is being carried out with utmost caution to ensure the safety of civilians, while forces continue to cordon off the area to prevent the escape of militants. Further details regarding arrests, recoveries, or the final outcome of the operation will be shared upon its conclusion.
The ongoing operation reflects the continued commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to counter terrorism and maintain peace and stability in sensitive areas through timely intelligence-led actions.
