In the Matki Bezan Khel Tazeri area of Bannu, militants engaged police forces in a fierce exchange of fire during an intelligence-led operation. The confrontation demonstrated the resolve and courage of the police personnel, who responded decisively to the threat. During the intense firefight, police official Saddam embraced martyrdom while defending the area from militant aggression. The operation forced the militants to retreat, and the area has since been secured, with search and sanitization activities continuing.
Meanwhile, in a separate and highly concerning incident in Drazanda, militants employed an advanced and cowardly tactic by using a quadcopter drone to launch two projectiles at Loni School, located near the FC Loni Post. According to initial reports, the aerial attack resulted in the martyrdom of one security personnel, while three others sustained injuries. The wounded were immediately evacuated and provided medical treatment.
Security forces reacted swiftly to the drone attack, cordoning off the area and initiating a comprehensive clearance and surveillance operation to eliminate any remaining threat. Reinforcements were deployed, and the situation has been brought fully under control.
These incidents once again highlight the persistent threat posed by hostile elements and their attempts to destabilize peace through asymmetric and unconventional means.
