A Pakistan Navy flotilla comprising PNS Rah Naward (sail ship), PNS Madadgar, and a Pakistan Maritime Security Agency vessel, PMSS Kashmir, paid a goodwill visit to Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat, Oman, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral maritime cooperation.
Upon arrival, the ships were accorded a warm welcome by Omani naval and port authorities, reflecting the longstanding defense and maritime ties between the two countries. During the port call, the Mission Commander, along with the commanding officers of the visiting ships, held a series of meetings with senior leadership of the Royal Navy of Oman.
According to official sources, the Mission Commander called on the Acting Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, the Director General Operations and Plans, the Commander Maritime Security Centre, the Commander Said bin Sultan Naval Base, and the Commandant of Sultan Qaboos Naval Academy. The meetings focused on regional maritime security, counter-piracy efforts, information sharing, and avenues for expanding bilateral naval cooperation.
Following the port visit, Pakistan Navy and PMSA ships conducted a Passage Exercise with Royal Oman Navy ship KHASAB. The exercise at sea included communication drills, maneuvering exercises, and coordinated maritime procedures aimed at enhancing interoperability and operational coordination between the two navies. The joint activity also provided an opportunity for professional interaction and shared learning in maritime operations.
Pakistan and Oman, as maritime neighbors, maintain close naval cooperation, with regular exchange of visits, joint exercises, and high-level engagements forming a key component of their defense relationship. Naval officials said such interactions contribute to regional maritime stability, improve coordination in the Arabian Sea, and reinforce mutual understanding between the two forces.
The visit underscores Pakistan Navy’s commitment to strengthening maritime diplomacy and fostering cooperative security arrangements with regional partners.
