Pakistan Navy Demonstrates Lethal Air Defence Capability in Arabian Sea: ISPR

The Pakistan Navy, under the supervision of the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, conducted an intensive and high-profile naval exercise in the North Arabian Sea, successfully showcasing its advanced operational capabilities and combat readiness, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported.

During the exercise, the Navy successfully tested the LY-80N Air Defence Missile, which destroyed a long-range aerial target with precision, reaffirming Pakistan Navy’s strength in maritime air defence and strategic deterrence. This live-fire demonstration highlighted the Navy’s ability to neutralize threats from long distances, underlining the operational superiority of Pakistan’s maritime forces.

In addition to missile firings, the Navy executed loitering munition strikes on surface targets, demonstrating advanced precision-strike capability and tactical versatility. The exercise also included the successful open-sea trials of an Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV), which performed flawlessly under extreme weather conditions, showcasing high-speed maneuverability, advanced control systems, and enhanced maritime surveillance capacity.

The Commander Pakistan Fleet observed the exercise, while Admiral Naveed Ashraf praised the officers and sailors for their high level of professionalism, technical expertise, and operational discipline. He reiterated that the Pakistan Navy remains fully committed to defending national maritime interests and securing the country’s sea borders against any potential threat.

According to ISPR, this exercise forms part of a continuous programme to test modern warfare systems, validate operational doctrines, and ensure a high state of readiness in the face of evolving security challenges in the region.

The drill sends a clear message of deterrence and showcases the Pakistan Navy’s unwavering resolve, cutting-edge capabilities, and readiness to respond decisively to threats in the maritime domain.
