Key TTP Commander Killed in Targeted Attack in Ghazni

An important commander of the banned Tehreek‑e‑Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was killed in Afghanistan’s Ghazni province on Monday after being targeted by unknown armed assailants.

The incident occurred in the Spazhm Oja area of the Naw Abad village, according to local sources. The slain commander, Hiyawad, also known as Muhammad Marwat, had been involved in facilitating the 2023 attack on the PAF airbase in Mianwali and was wanted in connection with the killing of more than eight police officers in Lakki Marwat district.

Authorities recovered weapons and Indian currency from the commander’s possession.
