Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, led a significant round of security and defence discussions on Tuesday as he hosted Lieutenant General Fahad bin Saud Al Johani, Commander Royal Saudi Land Forces, at the General Headquarters. The meeting underscored the growing strategic alignment between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at a time when regional security dynamics continue to shift.
Both sides reviewed matters of mutual interest, assessed regional security trends, and explored new avenues to enhance bilateral defence cooperation. The interaction reflected a shared resolve to deepen a partnership that has long served as a cornerstone of military ties between the two brotherly nations.
Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed satisfaction over the strong and expanding defence collaboration and highlighted the need for continued cooperation in training, capacity building, and intelligence sharing. He noted that these pillars are vital for strengthening operational readiness and regional stability.
Lieutenant General Al Johani praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Army and acknowledged the positive role Pakistan has played in promoting peace and stability across the region, reaffirming Riyadh’s confidence in Islamabad’s military capabilities.
Upon his arrival at GHQ, the visiting commander was presented with a Guard of Honour, marking a formal welcome to a visit seen as an important step in advancing Pakistan Saudi defence relations.
