Four Dead, 10 Injured in Northern California Birthday Party Shooting; Suspect at Large

At least four people were killed and 10 others injured in a shooting at a birthday party in Stockton, Northern California, Saturday evening, authorities said. The unidentified shooter reportedly fled the scene.

Heather Burnett, spokeswoman for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed the attack occurred around 6 p.m. local time at a banquet hall. Victims ranged from teenagers to adults, she said.

No arrests have been made, and investigators are still seeking details about the suspect and possible motives.

Stockton Deputy Mayor Jason Lee described the incident on social media, emphasising that it took place during a child’s birthday celebration.

The shooting follows a series of gun-related incidents in Northern California, including a shooting at a San Jose shopping mall on Friday that left two injured, and an attack on two US National Guard members in Washington three days ago, one of whom later died from severe injuries.

Authorities urged anyone with information to contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.
