Tribal Leadership Joins Forces with Pakistan Army to Counter Terrorism and Promote Stability in North Waziristan

A significant jirga of tribal elders and local leaders was convened under the administration of the Pakistan Army in Miranshah, North Waziristan, to discuss the prevailing security situation, counterterrorism initiatives, and development efforts in the region.

The jirga was attended by senior tribal leaders, local notables, and representatives of civil administration. The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Miranshah welcomed the participants and highlighted the crucial role of tribal elders in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

During the deliberations, participants engaged in detailed discussions on the security environment in North Waziristan, ongoing counterterrorism operations, and welfare and development projects aimed at improving the lives of local communities. The GOC emphasized that sustainable peace can only be achieved through coordinated efforts between the local population, civil authorities, and the Pakistan Army.

Tribal elders contributed actively to the discussions, sharing their proposals and suggestions to strengthen law and order, support counterterrorism initiatives, and enhance collaboration with state institutions. They reaffirmed their commitment to fully cooperate with security agencies and the civil administration to ensure the safety and well-being of their communities.

The jirga concluded with a collective affirmation of national unity and prayers for the continued peace and security of the country. Officials highlighted that such engagement between the Army and tribal leadership is central to consolidating stability, fostering community trust, and creating an environment resistant to extremist influences.
