Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army, met with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in a high-level bilateral meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and addressing regional security challenges, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan.
The discussions emphasized the importance of strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations and fostering a cooperative approach to maintaining peace and stability in the region. Both sides engaged in a detailed exchange of views on the current security situation in South Asia and the broader neighborhood.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region. He highlighted the necessity of increasing counter-terrorism cooperation between Pakistan and Iran as a critical element in safeguarding regional security and combating threats posed by extremist groups.
Ali Larijani acknowledged Pakistan’s pivotal role in ensuring regional peace and stability and expressed Iran’s interest in further consolidating bilateral relations with Pakistan.
