Security forces and police, in coordination with local peace committees, carried out a series of intelligence-driven counterterrorism operations across Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts, resulting in the elimination of several terrorists and the restoration of stability in the affected areas.
In Paharkhel, Lakki Marwat district, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation against militant elements. During the engagement, nine terrorists were killed, while seven bodies were subsequently recovered from the area. The operation was executed on confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of armed militants involved in attacks on law enforcement personnel and acts of violence in the region.
Meanwhile, in Dargai Nasar Khel, Lakki Marwat, an armed confrontation broke out between members of the Police Peace Committee and militants referred to locally as Fitna al-Khawarij. The exchange of fire continued for several hours, during which two terrorists were killed, while several others sustained injuries. The incident highlighted the ongoing collaboration between local communities and police to counter extremist threats.
In a separate development, Domel area of Bannu district also witnessed an armed engagement when the Peace Committee and police forces came under fire from terrorists attempting to infiltrate the locality. During the intense exchange, three terrorists were killed, and multiple others were reportedly injured. The operation remains underway as security personnel continue to clear the surrounding area.
Authorities confirmed that all three operations were part of wider efforts to neutralize militant networks attempting to regroup in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Security officials stated that law enforcement agencies, backed by community-led peace committees, remain fully committed to maintaining peace and preventing the resurgence of terrorist activity.
