Security forces successfully eliminated three terrorists; affiliated with the Indian proxy Fitna al-Khawarij or the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP or FAK), during a precision intelligence-based operation in the Khoi Bahara area of Dera Ismail Khan late Monday night.

The raid was initiated after credible intelligence confirmed the presence of a TTP cell planning attacks on security installations and key public infrastructure across southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As troops approached the hideout, the terrorists opened fire, triggering an intense exchange.

All three militants were killed.

Following the firefight, forces secured the area and recovered a significant cache of weapons, including automatic rifles, grenades, ammunition and communication devices—evidence indicating that the cell was in the final stages of preparing a major assault.

According to security officials, the slain terrorists were linked to multiple acts of extortion, targeted killings, and reconnaissance missions carried out in DI Khan in recent months. Their elimination, officials say, represents a major setback for TTP’s efforts to re-establish operational networks in the district.

A subsequent clearance operation confirmed that no additional militants were present in the surrounding area, though intelligence teams are now tracking potential facilitators believed to have aided the group.

Residents welcomed the swift action, calling it a timely intervention that prevented a looming attack and further destabilisation.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining heightened security across the region to ensure that terrorist networks find no room to regroup.
