KP Police in State of War Against Terrorism, Says IG Zulfiqar Hameed

Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, has said that the police force is currently in a state of war against terrorism and will launch a forceful response to any militant attack. In view of the prevailing security situation, the IGP has issued directives to all Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to conduct a comprehensive security audit of all sensitive locations, including police installations, courts, educational institutions, jails, police stations, and other key facilities across the province.

According to the directives, a robust security mechanism must be established by reinforcing a double security perimeter around vital installations and buildings to ensure that security personnel can effectively neutralize any potential terrorist threat.

The IGP further ordered an increase in the number of checkpoints at all entry and exit routes of the province, activation of daily police patrols, and the formulation of an action plan at regional and district levels for intelligence sharing. Immediate coordination and information exchange with all intelligence agencies and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have also been made mandatory.

Zulfiqar Hameed directed all regional and district police officers to personally inspect the security arrangements at the Police Training College Hangu, Elite Police Training Centre Nowshera, and other police training and specialized schools to ensure foolproof security.
