Terrorists attempted a coordinated assault on Ahmadzai Police Station in Bannu under the cover of darkness last night, but the attack was successfully thwarted by the timely and courageous response of police personnel, according to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Public Relations Department.
Armed with both small and heavy weapons, the assailants tried to breach the police station. However, the brave officers on duty responded immediately, displaying exceptional valor and professionalism. Their swift counteraction inflicted significant losses on the attackers, many of whom were killed or injured, while others fled the scene.
DIG Bannu Region Sajad Khan and DPO Bannu Saleem Abbas Kalachi commended the officers for their courage, dedication, and sense of duty. “Bannu Police have always stood on the front lines in the defense of the motherland. Our force is the guardian of peace. Enemy attacks will never weaken our resolve. The police remain committed to protecting the lives and property of the public under all circumstances,” they said.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfqar Hameed, lauded the team for their brave and professional response, emphasizing that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police remain vigilant and ready at all times to ensure public safety. The IGP announced cash awards and commendation certificates for the officers involved in the operation, recognizing their courage and professional spirit and aiming to inspire excellence across the force.
