The closing ceremony of the 45th Pakistan Army Rifle Association (PARA) Central Meet was held at the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), Jhelum, where Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The 45th PARA Central Meet 2025, held from October 1 to November 10, brought together over 2,000 participants from the Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, Civil Armed Forces, and provincial and federal rifle associations, who showcased exceptional shooting skills with great zeal and professionalism.
The Pakistan Army won the 3rd Inter Services Combat Shooting Championship 2025 by securing victories in all four inter-services matches. The Punjab Regiment claimed the Unit Firing Proficiency Match Group-I title, while Sepoy Muhammad Irfan of the Punjab Regiment was declared Master at Arms. Naib Subedar Umar Farooq of the Army Marksmanship Unit won the Army Hundred Rifle Match Trophy.
Addressing the participants, the COAS lauded their exceptional marksmanship and underscored the importance of precision and proficiency in shooting as a fundamental aspect of military training. “Mastery in shooting must remain a core objective of military training,” he emphasized.
Later, the COAS attended the centenary celebrations of the Military College Jhelum (MCJ) as the chief guest. On the occasion, he inaugurated the Centenary Monument and College Museum to commemorate a century of excellence and to preserve the institution’s proud heritage. Paying tribute to the institution’s legacy, the COAS lauded its pivotal role in nurturing leadership, discipline, and patriotism, and commended the contributions of Alamgirians to Pakistan and its Armed Forces. He also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to honor the martyrs.
Upon arrival, the COAS was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps and the Inspector General Training and Evaluation (IGT&E).
