Militants Open Fire on SNGPL Security Detail in D.I. Khan; Four Martyred, Eleven Injured

In a stark reminder of the persistent threat posed by terrorism, four valiant soldiers of Pakistan’s security forces embraced martyrdom while 11 others sustained injuries in a brutal ambush near Kot Lalu, on the outskirts of Dera Ismail Khan. The attack targeted the Frontier Constabulary (FC) PNI protection unit and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) personnel engaged in critical infrastructure protection.

According to official sources, the militants opened indiscriminate fire on the FC protection detail assigned to guard the SNGPL installation. The assault was sudden and ruthless, aiming to disrupt national energy operations and undermine the security apparatus safeguarding Pakistan’s strategic interests.

Despite being taken by surprise, the security personnel responded with exceptional bravery. However, four soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The injured were immediately airlifted and shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Dera Ismail Khan, where they are receiving medical treatment. Some are said to be in critical condition.

Following the attack, the area was cordoned off as security forces launched a comprehensive search and clearance operation. The attackers, however, managed to escape under the cover of darkness. A manhunt is underway, with military and intelligence agencies working round the clock to apprehend those responsible.

The Pakistan Army has vowed that the blood of its martyrs will not go in vain. The nation stands united against terrorism, and every drop of blood shed by our soldiers will strengthen our resolve to eliminate the menace once and for all.

The bodies of the martyred soldiers will be sent to their native towns with full state honors, in solemn recognition of their service and sacrifice. Funeral prayers will be held with military protocol, attended by senior officers, local authorities, and grieving families.

This cowardly act comes at a time when Pakistan is intensifying its counter-terrorism operations nationwide. Today’s tragedy underscores the heavy price paid by our armed forces to secure peace for millions.
