Armed Men Attack Judicial Complex in Kharan, Abduct Judge and Torch Building

Unknown armed men launched a brazen attack on the Judicial Complex in Kharan district of Balochistan on Monday, abducting a judge and setting the building on fire, officials confirmed. According to police, the assailants stormed the complex and kidnapped Qazi Jan Muhammad, who was on duty at the time of the attack. The armed men later escaped from the scene, leaving the building engulfed in flames.

Rescue and police teams rushed to the site, where they battled the fire for several hours before managing to extinguish it. Officials said the blaze completely gutted the structure, destroying a large portion of the judicial record stored inside.

Following the incident, security forces and police cordoned off the area and launched a massive search operation to recover the abducted judge and trace the attackers. Police have set up checkpoints across all entry and exit points of Kharan to prevent the suspects from fleeing. “The search operation is underway, and all possible routes are being monitored,” a police spokesperson said, adding that efforts to locate Qazi Jan Muhammad are being pursued on a priority basis.

Senior officials have sought a detailed report into the incident to ascertain the motive and nature of the attack. An investigation is ongoing.
